What inspired Minimony Society?

A few years ago, one of us thought about eloping in Vegas. No big dress, big party — just needed to be married to the love of her life. The plan was simple: a quick, beautiful moment now, and a bigger party down the road. But the options all felt cheesy and impersonal.

Years later, both of us were both engaged in the wedding business. Time and time again, we heard from brides: "It's too much," "I'm overwhelmed," "Why are weddings so expensive?"

That's when it clicked. Let's create the thing we wish we had: beautiful, stress-free weddings that feel elegant, personal, and effortless. That's Minimony Society.

Our founders' story

We're Nas and Nicolette. We were from the same hometown, and yet we bumped into each other here in Pittsburgh. We knew that we had no choice but to be best friends!

We bonded over weddings from the very beginning. Nicolette introduced Nas to her now-husband. Nas was the first person that Nicolette introduced her now-husband to (it was important to Nicolette to get Nas’ stamp of approval). We planned our own weddings together and fell in love with the process. Nas went on to run a very successful wedding videography/photography business, and Nicolette joined the team soon after!

Both of us graduated from the University of Pittsburgh (Go Panthers!). Nas did chemical engineering while Nicolette studied romantic relationships for her PhD in Anthropology. However, we are both creatives at heart. We’ve both taken our old lives and transformed them into something soulful, creative, and joyful — a business where we get to celebrate love, every day.
